A blogging break and Christmas fun times

A blogging break and Christmas fun times
More issues than vogue watch

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I hope everyone who is reading this has thoroughly enjoyed the festive period, has a food baby that might well be twins and has Instagrammed the shit out of their Christmas tree.

Around mid-December I entirely lost my blogger vibe and decided it was time for a break. Everything got a little crazy, I was busy with work and I’ll be honest, I hit the wall. I didn’t know what to write, I was reading so much content that I had no idea how to do something different and I decided that I would just skip out the whole lead up to Christmas listicles and start afresh. Let’s face it, it’s better to write nothing than churn out shit content that I didn't love.

I wish I could promise amazing January content that’s already planned out and have great enthusiasm for my blog but I’ll be honest, I haven’t thought about it yet. Soz about that. But at the very least, I’m feeling optimistic. The winter blues hit me hard for the second year running but thankfully that fog inside my head is lifting and I’m feeling more motivated and less like a grumpy bitch. So that’s a plus.

I had a fairly quiet Christmas this year and it was a really welcome break. On the day itself, we headed to the beach and everyone who walked past got jel of our icecream and then headed back for a massive Christmas dinner. As it’s just the three of us, it’s great that it’s such a chilled day and it meant my sister could go for an 8 mile run in the evening whilst I sat on the sofa eating Yule log and watching Harry Potter (we all know who won there). In the days after Christmas, I saw friends and family, went to a spa, had afternoon tea and then headed back to Leeds in time for New Year.

New Year has never been a massive celebration for me and it’s not often that I’ll make plans to see it in. Now that I’m back to post-Christmas normality for a few days before returning to work, it already feels like things are changing. However, that could be due to reading the first few chapters of ‘The life-changing magic of not giving a fuck’ and realising that I will most certainly be implementing a ‘fuck budget’ in 2017.

So that’s it from me for now, sorry for the radio silence over the festive period, I’m sure you’re all gutted that I didn’t do posts such as ‘How not to be a dick over Christmas’ and ’10 presents to buy yourself with the money you saved by being single’. What I can promise you however, is a New Years Resolutions post within the near future and more than likely something about falling off the gym band wagon for the millionth time in about 6 weeks. (I may be currently optimistic, but I’m also realistic).
