The Lebarim Project Blog Design Pipdig

Why hello there! It feels like this little overhaul has been a hell of a long time coming.

As you can see, I’ve been working hard to improve my blog over the last week or so and I thought I’d give you all a little run down of the changes I’ve made.

This biggest one of course is moving to my own domain. I’ve actually owned this since last September but fear of the unknown definitely put me off making the move as I was worrying that I’d accidentally delete the whole thing or mess something up. In actual fact, it was so easy and I managed to do it with just a simple guide from Google. It really was about time that I sorted my domain out – everyone’s always a bit surprised to hear that you’re a blogspot blogger when you work for a leading search agency.

Through work, I have a decent understanding of SEO and because of that, I did some clearing up of broken links, made sure everything was tagged up and tried my best to follow top line best practices. It was important to make sure I wasn’t linking back to error pages and had the right follow/no follow attributes in my posts, even if it did take a few hours to go through all my posts. I figured that now is the best time to do it so I can get my blog in the best state possible from the off on this domain!

I also bought and installed new layout from Pipdig (where else?!). This was really easy to install and I’m glad that it’s mobile-optimised too. Though it’s not too dissimilar from where I was at beforehand in layout, I can’t help but feel it looks a little slicker and it’s also coded to be search-friendly.

Last but not least, my new artwork. A friend of my sister’s reached out to me on Instagram about my blog and it was perfect timing as I had already set the wheels in motion to re-brand. I love my new header and it’s going to look really cool on my business cards too. If you love Karl’s work as much as I do, check out his website, The Lebarim Project and follow him on Instagram.

So, that’s what I’ve been up to recently, I’d love to hear what you think of my blog’s new look!
