Leeds March Meet

This afternoon (or last Sunday when you read this), I went to an absolutely fantastic blogger meet up in Leeds, arranged by the lovely Carrieanne at Crowd of Favours. We were lucky enough to have the basement to ourselves which had been decked out with all things rainbow and unicorn themed.

What I loved about this meet is the amount of effort which went into it. Carrieanne has been arranging this for weeks, putting together goodybags and a massive raffle with donations from brands, a photobooth, sweet treats and a craft table for us all to make our own name badges. (Turns out my crafting skills aren’t quite what they used to be).

Of course, it’s the people who make an event and it was such a lovely opportunity to catch up with some blogging babes and meet some new faces. Knowing that people traveled to the meet-up made it even more special as everyone genuinely wanted to be there. Some bloggers came from all over Yorkshire, from Manchester and even as far as Derby to be there today – now that is commitment!

As mentioned in a previous post, this event was all in aid of the local foodbank and there were overflowing bags and boxes from the kind donations that everybody brought. It was lovely to see everyone come together and I noticed that I wasn’t the only one who brought toiletries and feminine hygiene products (you can read all about the importance of that here), which is really great.

I just love that this is a community which comes together to do things like this. Nobody asks a blogger to arrange their own event and it comes at a lot of time, effort, stress, contacts and often their own cash to pull it together for everyone. Whilst I have blogger friends who I see socially outside of the blogging world, it’s so nice to see everyone together in a big group to just chill out for a few hours together. Whilst all bloggers love their ‘real life’ friends, having the opportunity to discuss all things blogging with those who really get it is the best.

I want to say a massive thank you to Carrieanne for putting on the #LeedsMarchMeet as it turned out just perfectly and to all of the brands who made donations – it really was a great afternoon!

  1. Thank you for the generous donations I can't believe the money we raised and the amount of donations we got on the day. Can't wait to update everyone with the actual photos of everything.
