Malmaison, Leeds

Malmaison Leeds
Malmaison LeedsI was very lucky to win a fabulous prize c/o Restaurants of Leeds to have dinner, bed and breakfast at the lovely Malmaison hotel in Leeds and it was absolute  treat and a half.

As it was my lovely sister’s birthday this weekend, we booked the break so we could celebrate at the same time and were even upgraded to a ‘Deluxe Double’ which was the most beautiful hotel room I’ve ever seen. It's the perfect place for a city break in Leeds.

We started off with dinner in the restaurant in Malmaison; three courses of luxury. The starter for the Sunday lunch menu is essentially a buffet and it was AMAZING. I could have just eaten that. All day. We’re talking homemade mini quiches, lots of different meats, cheese, Mediterranean vegetables. Literally all of my favourite things ever.

For mains, I had mushroom risotto, my sister had a burger and my mum had the roast dinner – all three were so yummy. Even though we were stuffed, we all had a pudding (of course). Charlotte and I had a teacup of loveliness (I can’t remember the dessert’s name) – hot chocolate sauce poured over deliciously overindulgent icecream, cream and marshmallows. Mum had sticky toffee pudding with icecream which was also lovely.

The room at Malmaison was absolutely perfect, and came complete with a river view. The mini bar was stocked full of treats (we’re talking Propercorn and cans of gin) at the usual type of hotel charges. The bed was absolutely ENORMOUS and had a chaise longue at the bottom of it. It was very stylish and spacious, not what you’d expect from a central Leeds hotel. The bathroom had both a bath and separate shower cubicle (big tick for me) and some lovely toiletries.

Breakfast was absolutely amazing the next morning too and we were too excited by the home made granola to take photos. It was a continental breakfast of delights followed by a full cooked breakfast which was absolutely uh-mazing. As going out for breakfast is my new favourite thing to do, I’ll definitely be going back!

So that’s what I thought of Malmaison, Leeds, and I can’t thank the staff enough for such a fabulous experience and of course Restaurants of Leeds for such a wonderful prize!
