The Lost and Found - Leeds Club

The Lost and Found - Leeds Club
Lost and Found Leeds Club

A new bar in Leeds you say? One which ticks all my boxes? That would be a yes to both. The Lost and Found recently opened its doors having taken over the space where The Leeds Club used to be (next to Bills, if you’re familiar with Leeds) with a fully refurbished restaurant and bar and I was lucky enough to be a plus one to my gal Laura for their press launch.

The space itself is stunning. Think high ceilings and a whole load of luxury - the styling is almost like a gentleman’s study. Each of the Lost and Found’s bars has a persona which is centred around and The Leeds Club is the epitome of Professor Benedict Pike – a chemist who creates strange and wonderful concoctions. This vibe is channelled through everything, from the decor to the drinks to the menu, as though a scientist has designed a bar that is an extension of their personal space – especially in the secret bar which is opened up for events.

When it comes to the food, it’s high quality at mid-range restaurant prices – given the setting, I would have expected it to be at a slightly higher price-point. The drinks menu is extensive with a whole mix of new flavours, and even a guide based on strength and taste in the menu. We indulged in a few cocktails between us and were impressed across the board by all of the drinks. It’s the type of place which has something to suit every palate with cocktails based around many different spirits, though my favourite was a gin cocktail called the Highland Bloom.

The main menu has a lot of Italian goodness on there as there is a pizza oven at the restaurant, but there’s also a fantastic grill option with steaks and burgers too. We started with some sharing warm breads and anti-pasti meats which we could have eaten all night long as both boards were full of fresh, flavoursome bits to nibble on. I mean, who doesn’t love fresh bread and oil to dip?

For mains, I went for a burger with fries, Laura opted for a steak and Kellie chose the risotto – and there were no complaints here. I always end up going for a burger when I go out but I definitely wasn’t disappointed. Kellie’s risotto was the dream (I had to try a bit) and Laura’s steak was cooked perfectly – she’s a well done girl (sigh) and normally she finds that when she orders steak it never comes cooked enough for her but at The Lost and Found it was absolutely perfect, so she was very happy.

Of course we had dessert (as, duh) so I went for the sticky toffee pudding which was beautifully light and fluffy, whereas the girls both went for the millionaire’s shortbread dessert. I only managed to eat half of mine before I was defeated because I was already so full and it was satisfyingly sweet. The girls were defeated too – needless to say, there were some serious food babies going on.

Overall, we were so impressed by the Lost and Found that I’m now planning to go back there for my birthday in April – I think it will really impress my mum and sister. Oh and I’m definitely heading back for bottomless brunch in the near future too as who doesn’t love prosecco before lunchtime?

Will you be heading to the Lost and Found? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Ohh I love the theming, and the pretty cocktails! Looks like a really cool bar - I might have to call in for dessert at least!
