The Blogger Tag

The lovely Louise nominated me to do this tag and why the hell not? I feel like anyone who reads this probably knows me pretty well but who knows, you might learn something new.

Here goes...

Question 1: How tall are you?
I’m 5’6 which I believe is a little taller than average. I’m actually quite happy about my height situation as I can wear heels without being a giant and flats without being a short-arse.

Question 2: Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?
I failed my grade 5 flute exam twice. Not sure if the talent is being able to play it or being excellent at failing exams. However, I did recently try playing it again and I’m proud to say that I still remember the fingerings (snigger) and can play part of the Harry Potter theme tune.

Question 3: What’s your biggest blog-related pet peeve?
Blaggers. Anyone who blogs to try and get freebies, takes the piss with PRs or spams #PRRequest with gift guide begging does my absolute head in.

Question 4: What’s your biggest non-blog related pet peeve?
People who are late all of the time ‘just because’. I’m really not down with wasting my time because other people can’t sort their shit out.

Question 5: What’s your favourite song?
If you could see me now by The Script. I really relate to it having lost my dad when I was 20 as so much has happened since then that I wish he could have seen.

Question 6: What’s your favourite social media website?
As someone who works in social media as their job, I have loves and hates for all of them, but for my blog, it has to be Twitter. Whilst Instagram is beautiful and curated, I’m more about the conversations and the friendships I’ve built over there.

Question 7: What’s your favourite way to spend your free time when you’re alone?
I live by myself so get a fair bit of downtime, though I’m that person who just can’t get into watching a TV series and it’s rare I’ll watch a full film. I spend a lot of time watching YouTube, producing blog content and dancing around my flat with my headphones in.

Question 8: What’s your favourite junk food?
Burritos. Preferably from Barburrito via Deliveroo. I always go for all the meat and extra guacamole. I really could eat a burrito right now.

Question 9: Do you have a pet or pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?
I don’t have any pets though I’m looking into getting a plant for my flat as I feel like I need another living presence in here. I’m just not responsible enough for an actual animal and I’m not actually a big animal person anyway so it definitely wouldn’t be fair.

Question 10: What are your number one favourite nonfiction and fiction books?
Favourite nonfiction... erm do recipe books count? Let’s go for the really old, yellow recipe book my mum has (and has refused to donate to me), which I think was originally my Nanna’s. It has literally everything in it. Fiction... well it’s always going to be Harry Potter as despite being 24, it’s still like a comfort blanket to me. If it wasn’t Harry Potter then I’d choose Here Come the Girls by Milly Johnson – she’s my favourite author and I have two copies of that book, one signed and one which I actually read.

Question 11: What’s your favourite beauty product or tool?
A red lipstick by Seventeen at Boots in the shade Rich. It’s a deep berry red and has been my go-to lip product for about 4 years.

Question 12: When were you last embarrassed? What happened?
I’m not easily embarrassed but the last time was when I left a blogger event and fell over three times in a row due to being incredibly pissed and unable to walk in my heels. I definitely blame the shoes. Not the wine. Or the cocktails. Or the prosecco. Grazed knees at 24 is pretty embarrassing.

Question 13: If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Either Sauvignon Blanc or Pepsi Max.

Question 14: What’s your favourite movie?
Jurassic Park. Without a doubt.

Question 15: What was your favourite lesson in school and why?
I loved textiles, especially at A Level as I had a really great class, but maths was pretty good as my teacher was really hot.

Question 16: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
I actually really love living in Leeds. Despite having only moved here two years ago, I feel so settled and it feels like home. However, I’d love to retire to somewhere like Harrogate or Knaresborough as it’s bloody beautiful and I could go to Bettys every week for afternoon tea.

Question 17: PC or Mac?
I’m team PC all of the way. Mac’s might look beaut on Instagram but dear God I do not have time in my life to relearn all the keyboard shortcuts I know.

Question 18: Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boy/girlfriend, spouse? (or kind gesture from a friend)
LOL. The last person I dated bought me a HDMI cable to link my laptop to my TV, is that romantic? Let’s go with kind gesture... when I ran the Women’s Running 10k it was two laps and at the 5k mark my sister joined me and ran the second lap with me. Running in non-supportive trainers, skinny jeans and a regular bra is a true act of kindness.

Question 19: Favourite celebrity?
Jim Chapman. I’m absolutely obsessed with watching his vlogs right now.

Question 20: What blogger do you secretly want to be best friends with?
I have so many amazing IRL blogger friends so I’ll go with someone I haven’t met (yet). I definitely want to get Lauren in a room with a shitload of prosecco and cheese.

Question 21: Who is your biggest inspiration?
I’d say my mum and sister, they’re both pretty badass if I’m honest.

Question 22: What is your favourite blog to read?
I always go back to Lauren’s blog, Kellie’s as I’ve read her blog the longest and Vix Meldrew because she’s bloody brilliant.

Question 23: What is your favourite high street shop?
New Look! Pretty much my entire wardrobe is from there.

Question 24: Are you in education or do you work?
I’ve been out of education for over three years now (thank God), though I’m considering signing up to one of those £20 online courses so I’ll be able to get an NUS card again. I work as a Social Media Exec at a PR agency which is full of absolute gems.

Question 25: One thing you are proud of?
The fact that I’m adulting and not doing too badly at it. I live independently, I have a ‘career’ job, I have great friends and I can change spotlight lightbulbs. What more does a gal need?

So, here’s who I’m nominating!

1.      Laura
2.      Lauren
3.      Kellie
4.    Caroline
5.    Jennie
